Story

Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them. When an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves caught in a conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida — forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive. Their dynamic draws clear inspiration from Bonnie and Clyde — a criminal-and-romantic partnership navigating crime, risk, love, and betrayal in the sun-soaked but dangerous world of Vice City.

Gameplay

Leonida gives Rockstar a fresh canvas for parody and satire — Florida-inspired absurdity, influencer culture, coastal money, swamp country, and criminal folklore all existing within a single map. Fan estimates based on trailer analysis suggest the state of Leonida could be 1.5x to 2x larger than GTA V's entire map. The dual-protagonist system lets players switch between Jason and Lucia, each with distinct playstyles, relationships, and approaches to the world around them.

Visuals

Built exclusively for current-gen hardware, GTA 6 is expected to push PS5 and Xbox Series X to their limits, with Rockstar leveraging the full power of the RAGE engine to bring Vice City to life in unprecedented detail — from beachside streets and neon-lit nightlife to the sprawling rural counties beyond the city.

Online

Rockstar has confirmed that GTA 6 will include a GTA Online component, continuing the massively multiplayer experience that made GTA V's online mode a cultural phenomenon for over a decade. Details on how it works, when it launches relative to the single-player story, and what it will look like are yet to be announced — but given GTA Online's history, it's expected to be a major part of the game's long-term life.

Release & Availability

Grand Theft Auto VI launches November 19, 2026, exclusively on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The game is built as a next-generation experience, with no plans for last-gen consoles like PS4 or Xbox One. A PC version has not been officially confirmed, though based on the series' track record, a release in late 2027 or early 2028 would be a reasonable expectation. Both digital and physical editions will be available at launch.
