Preparing for a new Fortnite season is about finishing old rewards, saving useful currency, and getting ready for map, weapon, and quest changes. This guide covers what to do before the season ends and how to start the next season with a better plan.

Finish Your Battle Pass Rewards
Before a new Fortnite season starts, check your Battle Pass and see what rewards you still want. Focus on the skins, styles, emotes, V-Bucks, and bonus rewards that matter most to you.
If you are close to unlocking something, finish your weekly quests, daily quests, and event quests first. These usually give good XP and can help you level up faster before the season ends.
Complete Limited-Time Quests
Some quests disappear when the season ends. This can include story quests, event quests, bonus challenges, and special reward quests.
Check the Quests tab and finish anything that looks limited-time. If a quest gives a free cosmetic, extra XP, or Battle Pass progress, it is worth doing before the new season arrives.
Spend Your Gold and Use Your Items
Gold bars and some items may reset or change when a new season begins. If you have lots of gold, use it before the season ends on weapons, NPCs, vending machines, or useful services.
You should also enjoy the current season’s special weapons and items while they are still available. Some weapons get removed, changed, or replaced when the next season launches.
Save V-Bucks for the New Battle Pass
If you plan to play the next season, try to save enough V-Bucks for the new Battle Pass. This is usually one of the best things to buy because it gives you skins, cosmetics, quests, and more rewards as you level up.
Avoid spending all your V-Bucks right before a season ends unless you really want something from the Item Shop.
Check the New Map and Weapons Early
When the new season starts, take time to explore the map instead of only chasing eliminations. Look for new locations, bosses, vehicles, movement items, vaults, and strong loot spots.
You should also test the new weapons early. Some guns may feel stronger, weaker, or completely different from last season. Learning the new loot pool quickly gives you an advantage over players who are still figuring things out.
Update Your Settings and Loadout Habits
A new season can change how fights feel. New movement items, weapons, map areas, or mechanics can make your old playstyle less effective.
After a few matches, adjust your loadout. If close-range fights are more common, carry a stronger shotgun or SMG. If the map has more open space, use a better medium-range or long-range weapon.
Play Early but Expect Chaos
The first few days of a new Fortnite season are usually busy. Lots of players land at new locations, test new weapons, and rush to complete quests.
If you want easy matches, avoid the most popular new areas at first. If you want to learn quickly, land there and practice fighting around the new loot and map changes.
