The Frenzied Flame ending can lock you out of other endings in Elden Ring, but it is possible to remove it before finishing the game. This guide explains how to get Miquella’s Needle, where to use it, and what changes after you cure the Frenzied Flame.

Get Miquella’s Needle
To remove the Frenzied Flame, you need Miquella’s Needle. This item is connected to Millicent’s questline and Malenia.
You need to complete Millicent’s quest, help her near the end, then get the Unalloyed Gold Needle. After defeating Malenia in Miquella’s Haligtree, use the Unalloyed Gold Needle on the flower in her boss room to receive Miquella’s Needle.
Go to Dragonlord Placidusax’s Arena
Miquella’s Needle can only be used in Dragonlord Placidusax’s arena in Crumbling Farum Azula.
From the Beside the Great Bridge Site of Grace, take the nearby lift down, go outside, and drop down onto the floating ruins below. Follow the path until you reach the empty grave-like spot, then lie down to enter Placidusax’s arena.
You do not need to defeat Placidusax to use the needle.
Use Miquella’s Needle
Once you are inside Placidusax’s arena, open your inventory and use Miquella’s Needle.
This will subdue the Frenzied Flame and remove the ending lock. After using it, you can no longer get the Frenzied Flame ending on that playthrough.
What Changes After Removing It
After removing the Frenzied Flame, you can choose other endings again if you have unlocked them.
The yellow Frenzied Flame eyes will be removed, but the burn marks may remain. If you want to change your character’s appearance, use the mirror in Roundtable Hold or the cosmetics option at Rennala.
