Where to Find Karlach in Baldur’s Gate 3

Go to the Risen Road

Karlach is found in Act 1 on the Risen Road. This area is north of the Blighted Village and west of the Emerald Grove.

The easiest route is to travel through the Blighted Village, head north, and cross the broken bridge. From there, follow the road toward the river and tollhouse area.

Look Near the River

Karlach is not inside the tollhouse. She is down by the river, slightly southeast of it.

Look for a blood trail and follow the path down toward the water. You should find Karlach resting near the riverbank.

Bring Wyll If You Want Extra Dialogue

If you recruited Wyll at the Emerald Grove, you can bring him with you. His companion quest points you toward Karlach.

Do not attack Karlach right away. Talk to her first and listen to her side of the story. This lets you recruit her instead of treating her as an enemy.

Watch Out for the Paladins

Near Karlach, you can find Anders and the so-called Paladins of Tyr inside the tollhouse. They are connected to Karlach’s quest.

If you want Karlach as a companion, do not side with them against her. Help Karlach deal with them to continue her questline.

Recruit Karlach

After speaking with Karlach, you can invite her to join your party if you have space. If your party is full, she can go to camp instead.

Karlach is a Barbarian companion, so she is great for players who want a strong front-line fighter with high damage and good survivability.
