Patch 1.4.0 Goes Live
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Patch 1.4.0 added several important improvements for players across PC and console.
The update focused on quality-of-life changes, performance improvements, accessibility, combat fixes, and bug fixes.
Battle Retry Was Added
One of the biggest additions was the Battle Retry option.
After losing a fight, players could quickly retry the battle instead of going through extra loading or menu steps. This was especially useful for tough bosses and late-game encounters.
Performance and Visual Improvements
The patch also added Frame Generation and Low Latency support for compatible NVIDIA and Intel GPUs.
These changes helped improve smoothness and input response for players with supported hardware.
Quality-of-Life Changes
Patch 1.4.0 also improved the Pictos menu by showing Lumina costs more clearly.
Other changes included autoplay dialogue, separate volume sliders for exploration and combat, and better readability for Lune’s Stains.
Why the Update Mattered
Patch 1.4.0 was important because it made the game easier and smoother to play without changing what fans liked about it.
Battle Retry was the headline feature, but the smaller fixes also helped improve the overall experience.
