Cyberpunk 2077 enjoyed a major comeback after Netflix’s Cyberpunk: Edgerunners drew new and returning players back to Night City.

Cyberpunk 2077 saw a major comeback after the release of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners on Netflix.
The anime introduced more people to Night City and gave existing fans a reason to return to the game.
Patch 1.6 Added Edgerunners Content
CD Projekt Red released the Edgerunners Update, also known as Patch 1.6, alongside the anime’s release window.
The update added gameplay fixes, free DLC, new weapons, wardrobe features, cross-progression, and secrets inspired by Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.
Why Fans Returned
The anime helped players see Cyberpunk’s world in a fresh way. Characters like David, Lucy, Rebecca, and Maine became fan favourites, and many players wanted to jump back into Night City after watching the show.
