Patch 4.04 Goes Live
CD Projekt Red released Patch 4.04 for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt across all platforms.
The update included fixes for PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch, making it one of the more useful post-next-gen patches for the game.
Nintendo Switch Gets Big Improvements
One of the biggest parts of Patch 4.04 was the Nintendo Switch update.
The Switch version received content and improvements from earlier next-gen updates, including quality-of-life changes, gameplay fixes, and extra content inspired by Netflix’s The Witcher series.
Quality-of-Life Changes
Patch 4.04 added several useful improvements, especially for Switch players.
These included Quick Sign Casting, easier herb looting, map filter changes, subtitle size options, controller movement options, and better radial menu controls.
These changes made the game smoother and more comfortable to play.
Bug Fixes and Visual Updates
The patch also fixed issues with quests, crashes, ray tracing, visual bugs, and save loading.
Some fixes were platform-specific, while others applied more widely. For players returning to the next-gen version, the update helped clean up problems that appeared after earlier patches.
Why the Patch Mattered
Patch 4.04 was not a huge new expansion, but it was important because it improved the game across different platforms.
For Switch players especially, it brought the handheld version closer to the updated versions on other systems.
