How to Reach Sanctuary Grove in God of War Ragnarök

Finish the Main Story First

You cannot freely return to Sanctuary Grove during most of the main story. To unlock it properly, you need to finish the main campaign first.

After the story is complete, the game lets you access extra Mystic Gateways that were not available before.

Go Back to Sindri’s House

After finishing the story, travel to Sindri’s House. This is where you can speak to Ratatoskr and unlock more travel options.

If Ratatoskr is not already nearby, use the wind chimes outside the house to summon him.

Get the Yggdrasil Seeds

Talk to Ratatoskr and he will give you Yggdrasil Seeds. These seeds let you unlock extra Mystic Gateways across the realms.

Sanctuary Grove is one of the locations you can unlock this way.

Unlock Sanctuary Grove on the Map

Open the Mystic Gateway map and go to Midgard. Look for Sanctuary Grove and unlock it using a Yggdrasil Seed.

Once it is unlocked, you can fast travel there like other Mystic Gateways.

What to Find at Sanctuary Grove

Sanctuary Grove is Freya’s old home, where you visited earlier in the story. After returning, you can explore the area again and collect the Mirkweed flower for the Nine Realms in Bloom favor.

There is not a huge area to explore, but it is important if you are trying to complete collectibles or finish post-game cleanup.
