A Beginner’s Guide to Surviving Pharloom

New to Silksong? Hornet’s climb through the kingdom of Pharloom is faster and more aggressive than Hollow Knight. Here are the core systems to wrap your head around before you dive in.

Heal With Silk, Not Soul
Instead of Soul, you gather Silk by striking enemies with your needle. Spend it with Bind to heal — and unlike Hollow Knight, a single Bind can restore multiple masks at once. The more you attack, the more you can heal.
Because healing rewards offense, don’t turtle in a corner. Trade hits when it’s safe and keep your Silk topped up for the moments that actually matter.
Rest at Benches Often
Benches are your save points and your safety net. Resting refills your health and resets the enemies around you. Get in the habit of returning to one before exploring somewhere new so a bad run never costs you much.
Spend Rosaries Before You Lose Them
Rosary beads are Pharloom’s currency. When you fall in combat you risk dropping what you’re carrying, so put beads toward tools, map pieces, and upgrades at shops rather than hoarding a big pile.
Explore for Tools and Maps
You won’t be handed a full map. Track down the cartographer in each region to buy the local map, and keep an eye out for Tools — craftable items that unlock new attacks and abilities. Early exploration pays off fast.
